Welcome to Sacred Heart / Sacré Coeur in Estevan, Saskatchewan. We are proud to offer students from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 8 a wide range of programs and services to best suit every learner. Sacred Heart / Sacré Coeur is a dual track school which offers instruction in both English and French Immersion. Our goals as teachers and support staff are to provide an atmosphere conducive to the total development of all – mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Providing a curriculum which integrates Christian values in all areas of instruction can emphasize these goals. We also have the opportunity to provide experiences in the integration of the French language and culture. We have adopted a team approach to program development, planning, instruction and climate in our school. We believe that parents are an important part of the learning process and communication is a key to each child’s success. Sacred Heart / Sacré Coeur also offers a wide range of co-curricular activities including a Band program, Sports teams, Intramurals, Leadership and so much more.
Christ is at the center of all we do. We support character development, Christian values and religious education, through daily prayer, Gospel Assemblies, celebrating mass, Sacramental preparation, Social Justice Activities, Advent and Lent Activities, just to name a few. Our policies reflect Christian values and we encourage our students to reflect on Christ’s teachings in all areas of their development. We serve as the welcoming arms of Christ.
Our school is blessed with a very active and supportive parent group. The Sacred Heart / Sacré Couer Catholic School Community Council supports parents and families in becoming directly involved in their children’s learning. It ensure that parents, family and community members have an opportunity to actively participate in planning and governing our school and school activities. Therefore the purpose of the Catholic School Community Council is to: Develop shared responsibility for the learning process and well-being of all children and youth; and, encourage and facilitate parent and community engagement in school planning and improvement processes.
We extend a warm welcome to all students. We are looking forward to working with you in the upcoming years! We will continue to work to make the school experience a rich and fulfilling learning environment for all attending students.
